About the conference

Purpose of the 2010 conference

Dii was founded on 30 October 2009 as “Desertec Industrial Initiative” and aims at creating the conditions for an accelerated implementation of the DESERTEC concept in EUMENA (Europe, Middle East and North Africa). Our first anniversary is an opportunity to report to the broad market on progress achieved so far in different fields (e.g. strategy, technology, regulatory conditions and international cooperation).

The Dii Industry Initiative's Annual Conference 2010 – Energy from the desert also offers a platform to highlight challenges and solutions ahead of us. We want this conference to enable a vital exchange with decision-makers from the political arena, business community and academia.
